Accessibility

ALK® is committed to providing a website that is accessible and easy to navigate. This page describes additional options to help you view and navigate our website.

Browser

This site supports the most popular browsers. Please note that websites tend to work better with specific browser versions and do not always include the latest version of that browser.

Screen resolution

Our website was created for a minimum resolution of 1024×768. If your current setting is lower than this resolution, pages will not fit into the browser window without using the sliders.

Images

All content images on this website are provided with descriptive ALT attributes. Purely illustrative graphics have empty ALT attributes to prevent them from being displayed on screen readers. Where images contain important information, such as graphs and tables, alternative information will be provided in the form of inline descriptions.

Audio files

You must have a media player (such as Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, or iTunes) to listen to ALK podcasts. It is usually possible to download a media player for free from the programmer’s website.

Multimedia

Adobe Flash Player (version 8 or higher) is required to view multimedia presentations or videos on this website. Text alternatives are provided for all multimedia content. You can download the latest version from the Adobe Flash Player website.

Navigation

All pages contain a link to the homepage, sitemap, and search engine. The navigation system has been consistently designed to provide clear navigation paths throughout the site.

PDFs

If you want to use a screen reader to read PDF documents, you can get more information on the Adobe Accessibility website.

JavaScript

Although JavaScript is used throughout the site, site functions such as navigation and search are fully functional for visitors who do not have JavaScript enabled in their browser.
